What You Focus on Expands

There is a great quote that reads like this: When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Think about this for a moment. When you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

What does this even mean?

It means that it is not our outer circumstance that shapes the way we think, feel, act and ultimately live, though it is our perception of these outer circumstances and the lens which we filter them through.

In the Culture of More, we get stuck in a place of dissatisfaction, as soon as one goal is reached we are immediately onto the next one without taking time to celebrate what just took place.

If your focus is always coming from a place of “I need this and then life will be perfect”, the proverbial carrot on the stick will always be just a few inches further.

When we take the time to place our focus on what we do have, what we do have will begin to expand. When we look at situations that may be perceived as misfortune, we can also look at them and appreciate the gifts, lessons and messages that live beneath them.

But if I’m just focusing on what I do have right now, I’ll never reach my goals!”

What if it were the opposite? What if focusing on what you are fortunate enough to have right now just made you a magnet to create more good things in your life?

Regardless of what the day brings today, take just a few moments here and there to appreciate something that maybe you’ve gotten “used to” over the years. This could be someone in your family, your house, your vehicle, the clothes in your closet, the fact that we can breathe clean oxygen and drink clean water, the food in your fridge. Anything.

Because when you change the way you look at things, the things you look at change.

Alignment vs. Grinding

Aligning yourself with where it is you want to go by questioning and removing the beliefs that are keeping you from getting there

It is amazing how many of us are blindly working our tails off, doing our best to make sure we’re busy, without taking the time to really make sure we’re in alignment with who we are and where we want to go.

Aimlessly working hard for the sake of working hard will definitely make you tired, but without a grand picture of where you’re aiming, sometimes it is easy to get caught up doing small tasks for the sake of feeling productive. Sometimes the most productive thing we can do is to do nothing other than question the beliefs we are still holding onto.

In this episode of the Alignment Club Podcast, we discuss the art of taking time to align yourself with your goals, dreams and aspirations before taking massive action. This is the fastest, most simplistic way to get the results you want in a manner that will not bring you into complete exhaustion.

Life Driving you Crazy? How to find Inner Peace

Wiring yourself to be at peace will rapidly improve the quality of your life

Happiness, peace, joy and fulfilment. These are likely four of the most sought-after feelings that drive human behaviour, and they are things we are trained to look for outside of ourself.

In this episode of the Alignment Club Podcast, we discuss the beauty of finding peace within yourself, regardless the situation. We cannot control what life gives to us, but we are always able to control the way in which we do or don’t react.

Nothing has the power to influence the way that we feel until we give it permission. People will cut us off in traffic, look down upon our vocations, tell us are wasting our time, criticize the way we do things; these are reflections of them, not us.

When there is an inner wound that has not been healed, it will be manifested in physical form by lashing out at others or trying to cut them down.

Don’t take things personally, stay in your own lane and thank every person or situation that comes against you as a reminder that you are in control of your life and how you want it to unfold.
